I live in Charleston, SC with my husband, two young daughters, and a mischievous cat, Mister Kitty. You can often find my various "studio assistants" keeping me company as I create.

As a kid, I loved arts and crafts, but identified as a creative writer rather than an artist. In my 30s, I took a few calligraphy courses that turned into passionate love affairs with all kinds of art: watercolors, gelli-printing, stamp-carving, collage, resin pour, fiber arts, and more. I began to realize the impact that intentionally cultivating creativity has on my mental health and well-being. Making art brings me joy, challenges my perfectionism, and connects me to other creative people.

In my work, you'll notice lots of inspiration from nature and recycled materials. Whether weaving or collaging or painting, I experiment with a variety of colors, textures, and patterns. Come follow along with my artsy adventures on Instagram @languid_letters so we can keep in touch!

I love leading arts workshops, and have experience teaching art with kids, teens, and adults.

Teaching is one of my passions and strengths. I am a certified, highly qualified teacher with over a decade of experience as a classroom teacher (middle and high school English) and instructional coach (providing personalized professional development to staff).  My skills at organizing content, materials, and processes is a huge asset when teaching art. You can expect a high level of preparation and professionalism, as well as enthusiasm and empathy, from my instruction.
